Craft eggs without a hearth?

I'm about 2/3 of the way through the house, and I'm perplexed on a crafting setup. Some of the Mid level crafting, such as Fur and Feathers 10 scale + egg require, well, an egg.

But so far the only crafting stations I've been able to find you can actually use an egg in are hearths; which if you put an egg in them it doesn't matter what power or how much of an aspect you have, it overrides that and attempts to hatch the egg instead. Have I simply not unlocked the right crafting station to be able to use eggs as an ingredient?

The stations you'll need to use don't specifically say "egg" -- I believe they take "sustenance," which all of the non-skull eggs also qualify as.

The issue is you're trying to use an egg which already has a pre-determined output. So when you put it in the hearth it defaults to hatch the egg. The egg you want to use for those recipes is from the chickens.

There are crafting stations other than hearths that will take sustenance/egg you can use for hatching further in the house.

Ah, I was using Gull eggs mostly because I have an abundance of those and it didn't specify anything beyond having the 'egg' trait. Chicken eggs to result in different outcome, thank you!

I believe that one of the basement altars take sustenance. The one on the left, I think (out of the three in a line). Otherwise, nothing takes "egg" other than sustenance (why you can't really use the cranial tchorke). OH, and the beast cage takes sustenance.
