(King Crucible does not come by, but I think some of the more-human Names do)
So, while you don't meet those characters directly, you still learn about what happened to them after Cultist Simulator.
The links are there, sometimes obvious, sometimes hidden at plain sight, maybe just below the skin surface, maybe buried deep within.
I think you meet at least two Names that ascended from Long.
Yeah, I bought the game, couldn't resist.
Can you become Long in this game? Or go through the Mansus?
I didn't just "enjoy" Cultist Simulator, it "restore my faith" in games - i.e. that there are games that feel 'new', unlike what I have been used to and, the real surprise here, that thus there may be new "genres" of games to discover that I may enjoy. I.e that there are still games and types of games out there that capture my interest and imagination like games did when I was 14 years old!
It is not perfect, of course, but for me it was completely fresh and with deep, deep, lore.
It is a game that for my tastes, had the right amounts of mystery and mystique, difficulty, darkness + tons of lore presented in a way that works well for me.
I am interested in playing to have more and fresh interactions in that nice world. But talking about these things makes me to simply want to... replay Cultist Simulator.
Will playing Book of Hours scratch the CS itch? Is it similar in atmosphere, mystery even if it is different in playstyle?
I'll also mention that I tried two of the CS expansions and I found them pitched at a difficulty level below the top difficulty of the base game. They again had new discoveries but maybe not that much to discover compared to the repetition of existing content. They are not expensive though and might suit you if you just want another look at CS.
No and no. The Wood is no place for a Librarian, and the covenant of the Watchman's Tree makes you stand outside the established order of things. You wield an entirely different, and in many ways more terrifying, sort of power.
Intriguing...
Do you at least get a nice bust like the others I find in all those rooms? A painting without yourself in it?
Are the developers active in this forum? I would pay for a DLC that allows us to carve our bust from something and put it up, or a painting.
AK is semi-active, I think checking in around once a week, maybe once every couple of weeks? Doesn't always post even when he pops on, though. I don't think the DLC includes any artwork recipes, as it seems to be more focused on food, salons, and the Further Stories to resolve the incidents that happen over the course of the game.
There is a second DLC planned for some time in the future that might include player-created art, but more likely something will come from modding if AK makes it easier to mod in art assets (which is nebulous, and I don't know if AK plans on setting up BoH to be modded via workshop like CS is).
