Report a translation problem
Right now it seems like there's not a lot of gameplay reasons to advance a language. In future updates/DLC, it could be cool to make advancing them more interesting by adding more books where the required language contributes to the relevant Mystery, and perhaps special non-reading situations that can accept a Language (e.g. certain Hours could appreciate a chant in specific Language at their shrines), in addition to non-Numa ways of advancing them past 1 such as books granting a language Lesson.
Vak is Knock and Rose, so any lesson with Knock and/or Rose should work.
This is true of all skills, not just languages.
