How do I know which books I have already read for lessons?

I put the game down for a while and now I'm coming back to it and I'm having a hard time knowing if I have read a book before or not which is resulting in me rereading a bunch of books. Is there a way identify ahead of time books that I have cataloged but not read (gotten lessons from) yet?

Nm found it. I was missing the mastery icon on the book. :) See it HAS been a while.

As well as what you discovered, I personally like to keep my unread books all in one room separated out from the read ones. It just makes it easier to not have to check every book to make sure I've read/not read it.

(I'm sure there are better organizing methods, my library is kind of an embarrassing mess aside from that. Melvil Dewey would be ashamed.)

Oh don't worry about it. I JUST started taking notes on the memories each provides. It is amazing how much quicker I'm moving now.

Seems many books just remember the same "memory" , so decided to put 1 of them in a room, then all the others in another

Cant see the point of any use future for these "surplus", perhaps for visitors?
