Impossible recipe or misleading books?
So I've read a book that said the following:

One prayer describes how a strong degree of Nectar-aspect can be used with Leathy and Tridesma Hiera rites to bring forth 'the Last Nectar of the Last History, the Living Ink, the Ink-in-Secret…'

I've tried this recipe with scholar level Nectar, but nothing happened. Doing it with Keeper level is to my knowledge nigh impossible, because Tridesma Hiera has no Nectar and there are no high level Nectar memories to compensate (apart from Hive's Lament which only appears in numa).

So I'm left wondering: are some of the recipes in books just plain false? Is this intentional or perhaps a typo from an earlier version when Tridesma Hiera had Nectar?

It actually does have a Nectar recipe, believe it or not. There's a bunch of random off-aspect combinations amongst the skills in this game.

Tridesma Hiera with Keeper-level Nectar and Leathy creates Marakat[i.imgur.com].

You can get the correct amount by "side-loading" the skill into a workstation through clever use of different workstation slots.

That being said, there ARE recipes that appear to not work. But when they mention specific aspects, even if they don't match the skill, they typically do work.

The most I can squeeze out is 13 Nectar, but it might be possible to hit 14 with the same items I'm using.

2 (Leathy)
2 (+Health, possibly 3 with ++Health)
4 (Pyrus Auricalcinus, food item, craft with 10 Moon and any piece of wood)
VERY late game spoiler below:
5 (Numen: Weaving the World, a memory from one of the endgame books hidden in the library's vaults)

That's 13-14 Nectar with no skill. All I can think of is that there must be some item that can give you 5 Nectar, possibly a device, pigment, or food item.

The best I can manage so far is 12 Nectar like this:

2 from Health +
2 from Leathy
6 from Sacrament Malachite
2 from Earth-Sign

I can't imagine that there's any item that gives more Nectar than Sacrament Malachite, so it all comes down to finding a 5 Nectar memory, which doesn't seem to exist outside of numina. Otherwise if I can upgrade to Health ++ I can use Hive's Lament.

All in all seems like a major hassle for something which I can imagine can be crafted much more easily with a Nectar skill.

I got it. Craft in the kitchen:

2-3 (+Health or ++Health)
2 (Leathy)
6 (Sacrament Malachite)
5 (Numen: Weaving the World)

I was at 16 Nectar when I made it. I won't spoil the results, but suffice to say there is good reason why this is so difficult...

I mean you can also just use a Nectar skill and skip the Leathy. Not all of them will work but I know I've crafted it with a Nectar skill (although looking at my notes, I appear to have forgotten to jot down which one).

Yup, it's just much easier to craft with nectar skills. I guess you can use that recipe if you've had bad luck with skills but otherwise it's just a waste of resources.
