I read the patch notes and I used it to figure out the device tag. Information is useful, and all, but there were other things I wanted to try.

Is there a workbench besides the Loom that takes fabric? Or did the devs just mess up with The Great Signs and the Great Scars?

Just the loom it seems. The easiest way to make mommets right now is with human hair (counts as fabric and remains) in the fludd gallery lab (takes remains and grail). I don't think human hair is renewable though.

Oh well now I feel silly. I think I did one pass on items and completely ignored the human hair. it is renewable if you go to the beach in Numa although it's like 1 in 15 so still super rare.

I've got to say, I am confused by the (at least) 3 skills Sea Stories, Great Signs & Great Scar, Tridesma Hiera that have a grail recipe that require fabrics, and can't be played at the one work station that takes fabric. Like... what's the point? Sure there's a work around with human hair, but it makes the whole fabric ingredients almost entirely pointless?

I agree. I even put in a bug report saying that 4 skills were unusable at the loom which is the only thing that takes fabric. My best guess is it's a framework for the future. Like how certain food items have the fruit tag despite nothing accepting fruit specifically or calling for fruit in the recipe.

Back on the original question:
I got another one from beachcombing. It's a Flushed Mommet though, so, not exactly the same item. On the plus side, it has higher aspects than the one you start out with.

Your list, while technically correct, contains skills that aren't really useful in this regard.

Drums & Dances - No problem here
Weaving & Knotworking - Needs Fabric to make Fabric, not really that useful
Stitching & Binding - Needs Fabric to make Fabric, not really that useful

Idk. It seems to me you should be able to make Thunderskin without fabric...

Not Thunderskin, the Swaddled Thunder.
Weaving & Knotworking needs Frith-Weft(fabric) which is made by Heart and Fabric
Stitching & Binding is the same
Quenching & Quellings is the same

yes but, you get to make Swaddled which is fabric, and you dont need fabric to do it you only need thunderskin ... so you get free fabric just at high entry cost.

No... those skills cannot make fabric out of thunderskin. The only skills that can make fabric out of thunderskin, are Drums & Dances, Strings & Songs.
