I face same issue, i checked this game totally not working in Window 8. Just give up if you are window 8 user.

So what you're saying is, I buy a game but i can't play it? That's screwed up.. They never put this in the description.. is there any way i can refund even though it says in the description it isn't possible. And what are the odds of me getting a reply if I email?

I run the game in Windows 8.1 but my game is Origin DLC and it is still actively sold on Origin although it is essentially no longer supported. I don't know if it's an option for you, but since it is an EA game and Origin still sells it, just register your game with Origin and you may be able to play using a non Steam version of the game you payed for, and only pay for it once.

It is nowhere half as demanding on the CPU and GPU as is the TS3 base game. I played TSM on an old dual core when I had to use a laptop (had no access to my game desktop). It ran great. I have heard that Win 8 could not support the game but Win 8.1 changed that for many players.

I am having the same issue just bought it and it isnt opening, its failing to open. I have windows 8 64 bit also. Strange because its saying it is open, I just cant see it open.

sorry to infom you all win8 and win7 is same system...you can even compare them and you will see the mayor things is touch screen interface and thats its allmost the only diffrence in general...

here are some tips you need to check first

update gfx driver is a most overwrite win8,+ build in driver

then update your system allso ( windows update )
and check model pc homepage site or mortherboard site for drivers and such...

this is a most many dont do this or have never done that...

if laptop user.... stop using balance mode in power saveing scematic or max power save
3D games require max performance , use power cord in wall offcause

other tip depend on graphic card set it on balance mode if nvidia if amd try go for performance
or dl from amd game evoled ...

other issue is all win8 ..some not all need to add administrator to steam.exe and some need to reinstall with this option on steam.exe
other still need to set compabilities to windows7 so it act as that system, reason maybe security has been raised on win8

i love the game, and notice that other have trouble with the game

a standard post msg that try cover the basic to many post each day that have diffrent issue
from the lowest gear pc to highest and other addware or virus

right click on the game - Properties
from Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game.

with no computer spec information, either you have it or not ( could allso tell you why if you missing something )

(check video card driver through steam) should work with the right homepage for your card
in top left menu steam menu – check for video driver updates ( look for auto update apps if such is made, if you dont know what todo )

allso mortherboard or if its a named pc that homepage can allso have many drivers
but do make system point backup so you can restore to current drivers state as they are now...

after crash it maybe hang in the taskbar...thats what it ment by still running... either end process or reboot pc

as other post mention take cd-key and goto origin dl manager and add key if that is even possible...i have old disk version and my game is added to origin manager and i play there yesterday...

Use origin to redeem the code from steam. You will need a sims3 account though.

I just downloaded it and it worked until I created a sim and then it froze after I tried to exit the create a sim :( Might try again later
