Marriage quest stuck

So I know that not too many people play this game anymore, but I love this game. I just got the Pirates and Nobles DLC and I'm playing around with it. I'm doing the Marriage/elope quest. It's my spy and a random village chick. They are at the forest, ready to elope, and it's asking me to "Marry your betrothed" I click the option and they start to have the wedding, but then it gets canclled. "Someone got cold feet." It doesnt matter where I have them stand, the spy always freaks out like something is in his way and he can't reach his bride. Someone know how to fix this glitch?

i just did that quest myself...

and yes it can be a pain ....i took diffrent path and diffrent heroes...

but you need mark the beloved , and allso my king had worst trait he need a bath all the time

its a randome hero generate traits and keep as they are ... so thats the fun and hard part of this

but you need to be a ON THE TOP so partney want you i fail it 2-3days so be patient

and i allso got a hair to the throne ...so yes its very hard sometimes

so mark best lover allways and use call over or sims mail box ( im busy - that happend to me alot ) it was the mark and call over that did it...

seem to me pirate and nobel has made it alot harder game play...no time for platinium goals not before you know what todo allways...

other tip make a master save game at kingdom mode then you have not pick a quest

and make a other save game while playing...

my bard just got a bug quest and i have to reload master game ..now ...i did a save as ...because i could see something was wrong cant start play on bard actor left stage and i cant hire him again ..and cant start it ..its a buggy quest ..but i have my master save game before i strat the quest so all game is not lost...

I did this quest a few times with different heros and did run into the ''cold feet' problem.

I learned that one way around it, was to have both sims convert to the same religion (I can't remember which church I used) but get the sims to the church and you'll be able to complete the wedding quest.

I found that building a chuch and having the wedding there and no backing out happened.

lol just got stuck myself my spy could not court a NPC ... reason he had allready court another npc i did not know about so i had to break up first ...rofl....

either i have forgot about it or he had done this in free will or while i play with other sims...haha

I got stuck in that quest too. My couple is married but now I have to give them feast ale. Problem is, I already served them both some and still shows like I didn't...

I had the same issue. I figured out you have to have your best man present, i.e. standing next to the couple. I then did the marriage. I had to select the best man and then click on the bride/groom and choose 'watch marriage'. Then after standing there staring at each other some weird guy eventually appears to marry them. (This was on the elope quest with no churches built)
