SIMS MEDIEVAL WON'T START AT ALL... PLEASE HELP?
I just downloaded this from Steam, it installed fine, I go to launch it, and it has the regular 'first time setup' window pop up, but then it closes and nothing happens. If I try to launch it again from Steam or the Desktop icon it comes up with an error message saying that the game is already running. If I go into Windows Task Manager it says that the game is running in the background, but there is no way to open it.
I went on the Sims website and registered my game and it worked just fine, and it showed up in Origins. I tried to launch it from the Origins application and nothing happened, the "play" button just became unclickable. In Task Manager it again says that it is running in the background. If I end the task it stops running in the background but otherwise does not fix the issue.

I have Windows 8. I've tried exiting Steam and restarting, deleting the Steam folder 'appcache', restarting my computer entirely, etc.

HOW THE HELL DO I FIX THIS I JUST WANNA PLAY THE DAMN GAME.
Pls help :steamsad:

I'm having this exact problem too, but on Windows 10. >.<

Every other steam game I've tried works(Save for one, but that's a different story entirely), just Sims Medieval doesn't. It's frustrating, I adore this game, and it worked perfectly until I upgraded 0_o Much older games still run fine, heck, even Sims 3 is working great. I'm very perplexed with this, I hope there's a fix or something...:steamsad:

I have the same problem. Though the game worked for me before but now everytime I try to start it nothing happens. Just upgraded to window 10, may be that was the problem?

You have to get a Sims account, get the CD key for the game, verify the game to your Sims account using the CD key, dowload Origin, then download the game from there. Hope this helps!

I finally figured it out! You just have to have an origin account, register the game through origin, and you can only launch the game through the origin application. ♥♥♥♥ origin. If anyone needs a more detailed explanation, pm me!
