Disciples III: Reincarnation

The last boss (Undead Campaign)
(spoiler)

How do you defeat this guy?

he's got 2 angels with him, 2 holy avengers, an archmage and summons nightmares and whatnot.

Myzrael on the other hand is alone. he can summon 3 Living Armors (that pretty much get one shotted) and can resurrect (I don't see the point)

Am I missing something? It just seems impossible.

Also every time after I press 'leave battle' when the defeat screen comes up, i can continue to

fight Ferre, who now only has 3 or so upgraded specters (forgot the name) and is easily killed

(after pressing end turn couple of times to get life back), but nothing happens after that.

I second that. Winning with your actual squad you raise during the mission is possible, but with this Mizrael dude being a weakling, Emperor Ferre wins with ease. Bugfix fanpatch did nothing. Endgame for undead broken?

Ok, here is how you kill him.
1) Lower left corner of the arena is where you stand. Here two angels (or an angel and avenger) will block you from other enemies.
2) Ferre must start with summoning. By must I mean if he runs towards you in the beginning-load game. He must NOT reach you first.
3) Avoid attacking angels at first. Because lightning retaliation.
4) NEARLY EVERY hit you land on Ferre must be a crit. No crit=load game.
5) Remember, you can save game on your turn!
6) If you manage to kill all enemies but die because of lightning retaliation, it still counts as victory!
7) These tips are variable. Expierement with them and you will eventually succeed!
GOOD LUCK!

Found this thread because I was having the same trouble. Ferre defeated me and while I was trying to get my health back up, he ran around destroying all of the power nodes I had just spent time claiming. I read the reply from BakerBay and tried that but still wasn't getting anywhere. I ended up doing multiple reloads and hitting Ferre beforehand with a spell that took 80 hitpoints away. I just kept pounding him with that one until he was by his lonesome and about a quarter of his hitpoints were dust. Then I just kept reloading until I got a magic boost hex. Finally beat him that way.

I did enjoy the epilogue part. Just glad I'm done with the thing now.

If anyone else has problems, just use cheats, like the cheatengine table for the game. Devs were lazy and didnt bother to playtest it.

I managed to kill him but damn it took some serious luck and lots of saving/reloading

I agree with BakerBay thats mostly how I did it.

It's pretty obvious the final Undead missions were rushed and not tested properly. That entire map is weird, nothing but high-level Empire stacks and no training camp for your units, really? And the final battle basically comes down to luck. I ended up using the editor and nerfing Ferre just to get past it.

It's funny because the mission after that is basically a walk in the park.
well actually final mission for undead was totally fine in ressurection
but they remade it from the scracth for reincarnation

whyyy?

also my misrael don't even dшу so in theory it is possible to just spam ferre killing one unit after other one by one

in total - how kill Ferre by Amina's squad : last quest must be activated by Salaar (not Amina), and after battle (as Myzrael) we'll must walk by right road near capital (if we've looking to capital's gate)(and yeap, kill before one squad) and behind capital we'll see "original" Ferre.
P.S. BIG Thx to KDD!^Post-order Purchases xD

that was a painful fight to watch.

you could have just boxed ferre in with your deaths, and slaughtered him with zero losses.

instead, you wasted turns taking out his summons, and trying to resurrect your hero over and over.

oh well.

i was having fun my way

I just got around to finally finishing this game, and found a workaround. The game won't let you run away from the Ferre battle, but if you're defeated you don't die -- intstead, you auto-retreat with 1hp.

The Ferre that is left isn't the one you just fought, he just has a bunch of banshees. Killing him does nothing, doesn't advance the mission.

However, if you kill him and the undead surrounding the Empire capitol, you can then find the original Ferre party hiding off to the side of the capitol. (South side, IIRC.) You can use spells and throw other armies at him to weaken Ferre and kill the rest of his party, then you can finish him off with your archangel guy. Despite not being at the quest location, this *does* finish the mission. This is the only way I was able to get past him.
which is on video

Yeah, I'm going to put this down here as well: The first time you fight Ferre is PROBABLY a story fight. It is winnable, judging from the videos, but you're better off not trying. After you lose you get control of Amina again and if you run her southeast along the ruined city, you'll find our Ferre again. Whatever damage you did is still there, and this time you can use Amina's party to wipe him out.
