I broke my game. Man no games come with manuals anymore, and while I know this is really about as easy a game as you'll ever play... there are still questions. I have been playing for years and never knew what all of those buttons along the top and side did. So today I just started pressing them. And now my game is broke.

I mean it still works. But before, whenever I had some boxes already colored in with say color number 5, then if I was using color number 18 say, if I accidentally went over one of the already colored in number 5's, it would clear the color out, and I would have to go back to color number 5 and fill it in again.

Now, I can just pick a color and move my mouse all over the place. If it goes over the color I have picked, it will fill it in (good) but if I go over a box that had previously been filled with another color, it no longer clears it out (bad). I mean that was the only thing that made this like a "game" or challenge, it required you to be careful not to go over previously filled in boxes or it would unfill them. Now, no challenge at all. You can just pick any color, run your mouse all over the screen where it fill in the correct boxes and leave all others alone so that you can just pick colors and run your mouse without worry.

This results in... well, you could just have the setting being the smallest possible, so small you can't even read the numbers, and then just pick one number at a time and run the mouse over the whole picture and voila, done. No challenge whatsoever.

How do I get it back to where if I have color number 18 picked and run my mouse over a box already filled with color number 5 that it will clear that box back out, once again returning the "penalty" for coloring a box with the wrong number?

And why hell isn't there someplace where I can just find what all of those symbols on the screen do? WHY DO DEVELOPERS NO LONGER INCLUDE DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE GAMES THEY SELL LIKE THEY USED DO WITH A, YOU KNOW, MANUAL?

Well I just can't play it like this. Guess I'm done with this franchise after all.

Why is figuring out buttons in a game you purchase like trying to ascertain government secrets? WTF?

Yeah, I'm frustrated. Better believe it. I looked and looked and couldn't find an explanation for all of those buttons ANYWHERE. Fuc king nowhere. Yes I am frustrated. The only way I knew to figure them out was to try pressing them and now my game is ruined. your dammed right Im frustrated.

I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling and NOPE, same crap. I can't get my game back.

Thank you. I am sorry for my outburst, but seriously, is there something, somewhere that details what all of those buttons on the side and top do? I mean I was able to follow your link and correct the problem, but all I was doing was pressing those buttons along the top and side to see what happens. Somehow one of them must have changed that setting from clearing the previous color out to leaving it in place, but I don't recall hitting that specific choice. I was just testing all of those buttons to see what they did.

Why is it that games don't come with some resource, whether it's a manual or a help screen or something that says "Pressing the lock icon results in this.... " Something. Somewhere. Please. Not directed at you personally but all developers. I get the expense of printed manuals is why they are no longer included, but some sort of read me file, SOMETHING, should be included with almost any game as a resource to use instead of trial and error that might result in what just happened to me... a setting changed and I couldn't find out how to undo it. It's just so frustrating.
