Where is the Fire Cavern?

Greetings. My first Final Fantasy ever and I have been playing approximately 6 hours now, aimlessly battling random encounters and even a T-Rex. I cannot for the life of me find the Fire Cavern. I followed the road and it leads me to the small town and went through very screen for clues. Is there supposed to be a ship or ferry that would take me out east for the exam?

The town is in the opposite direction of the cavern. Just go east iirc from Balamb Garden until you see a cave opening.

I finally found it, thanks. Wish the game gave proper directions and instructions. I don't know how people who grew up in the 90s/2000s played any of this. Serious bad game design. I hope it isn't like this for the next FF games I plan to play.

They literally tell you the cavern is to the east. You don't even have to walk far it's on the same screen from where you leave the garden.

Dont worry about this, when i first time acquired mobile Balamb garden in 1999/2000 im randomly crossed whole world for 100 hours, i dont know any words in english so i dont know what to do and where to go either, that was really funn. :D

We had alot of, time back then. Something that seems to be ever more fleeting in a world that grows busier and busier.
