I would be glad to use it, as soon as it gets free, which was promised either a while ago.

He may take his time for sure and I am not being mad about, I just said that I've ceased my donations, since I had expectations which weren't met.

You either said, that you stopped your payments. That's no offense, but the way you talk about McIndus is offending.

Aside of your ranting, I really would like to see how much involved you were in this case.
I was a patron since 2020.

And as I said, I would happily pay the highest tier (around 80 bucks) once, as soon as I can get my hands on the finished project.

Nobody is white-knighting, people are just expressing their opinions.
Yet yours appears to be a bit insulting.
I get that you may feel disaapointed in a similar way as I do, but it's similar to early access games (Black Mesa is greeting again).
You do not know what you get and it's your choice to invest something into it.
The only difference is that you have a monthly payment if you accept a patronship.

You can cancel the patronship at any time, which I ultimately did as of scratching my head about it.
Yet I know that the older FF8 has already a full installer.
Then again, I am not sure if the bug with having the wrong sound file on Quezalcoatl is fixed. In that case the Remaster is better.
So I am rather waiting here for the full package.
And again, I am willing to pay a for it like for a full-prize game, simply as I have faith in it, just not enough to continue my monthly support, but rather stick to a promise of a one-time payment.

I personally dont use his mods, but I get why people are frustrated, All the fields are just ESRGAN upscales with little additions made by other artists. His battle and world map textures are just copy paste photographs from google search.
I may do a simple ESRGAN upscale for the fields and release it for free in the future. I'm personally remaking the battle textures by hand in photoshop, but I'm also remaking the field files, I'm 80% done on Squalls badroom, classroom and main Balamb Garden directory.

Just for 'white knight' (I don't think it's correct word)- but anyway, yeah, so what. He's my friend, we also have each other on real names on Facebook. He writes to me sometimes just asking how I am doing- so yeah, I defend him.

Having issues of textures actually working. Ive pasted everything to textures folder the right way - however it seems im doing smth wrong with other.zzz & main.zzz files perhaps. Ive tried to look forums and youtube, but these guides dont seem to have anything for this fix.

after finishing ff7 with graphic & sound mods (awesome experience), upscaled backgrounds was a must have for me to play ff8. I grudgingly paid for that mod on patreon --> and I have zero regrets, it works like a charm (so far!).

Agreed, yet there are still some bugs left and as the FX is not updated there is a big contrast between model, world texture, etc. and magical effects, etc.
