Regarding Maki's Demaster Tool
I've been tinkering with the Demaster Tool these past couple days and noticed something off. It seems that whether it's the field textures or battle textures, when upscaled, they work for the most part, but there's a couple oddities I've come across.

1) Ward's Esthar raid model with the bandanna doesn't line up upscaled in battle.

2) Rinoa's textures blink upscaled in the field when carried by Squall.

The work around I did was merely downscale the textures and un-tick the upscale options for field and battle in Demaster, and they work as intended.

For some reason, you can remove a single px from the width of the 'problem textures' and the upscaled textures will work. I think this might be due to VRAM page overcrowding. Something to do with the way DotEmu/AccessGames got the injected textures to 'blink'.

Interesting, I'd have to try it out myself. Thanks for the reply.

Edit: Sorry, I was right. I was staring at my backup folder thinking I didn't make the right changes. I tried altering Rinoa, and it worked. Ward doesn't blink though-- his combat textures don't seem to align right, and the trick doesn't work with his casual wear or his weapon textures.

Same problem with the Ward textures, wish I knew which files they were, I tried getting rid of a few of them but I obviously didn't get all of them because it didn't fix it. It looks horrible.

What I had to do to fix it was to completely avoid the battle texture upscales. I just used the SD variant for Squall and Rinoa and left all the battle textures in SD. The problem is that the Demaster tool has the dimensions for Ward's textures wrong entirely.

What you'd need to do to fix it is essentially start fresh with all the mods re-installed on a fresh FF8 install and avoid downloading the HD Battle Texture Pack. Oh, and if you use the LionHeart weapons pack, make sure it's the SD version too.
