None of those games will ever happen because they never had PC releases and would require the game engines to be built from scratch

Square really missed the boat on this too. What they should have done was make an in-house engine that could support using the assets and game scripts of all their PSX era games, and they could have made bank releasing an entire slew of old RPGs

chrono trigger, ff9 neither had pc releases previously

You can't trash a game worse than Chrono Cross already has.
Yeah cross was pretty bad, it had very little to do with trigger and the characters were so bland.

it had everything to do with chrono trigger.. kid and harle were different seperated parts of schala who was at the same time bound to lavos creating the dream devouerer. guile was supposed to be magus in disguise but that was downplayed at the last minute (personally still think he is) gaia's navel/the lost land are the remnants of the future created with the defeat of lavos in chrono trigger. robo is the prometheus circuit which powers the computer trying to kill you in the lost land. lavos is the effing final boss in the whole game.

All that crap was linked from the psx and ds revisions, the original snes game was meant to be standalone game. Particularly Chrono Cross was meant to be a what if spinoff following the bad ending timeline "The Fall of Guardia". In other words people are allowed to dismiss it if they wish, It may be part of a canon, but pick a different ending and Chrono Cross doesn't happen, that's the ending I choose so fudge off! :steammocking:

Again that don't prove sh!t! Are you really that dense? I just explained it to you... but don't take my word for it, even the creators don't consider Chrono Cross a "sequel". https://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/GamePro_Interview.html

4. With Chrono Trigger (for SNES) considered a classic by many RPG players, was there a concern that not many references to the original are present in Chrono Cross? Were you concerned that you might alienate loyal fans of the original?

As I mentioned before, Chrono Cross is not a sequel to Chrono Trigger, so I'm not worried.

As I mentioned before, Chrono Cross is not a sequel to Chrono Trigger, so I'm not worried.

"On a different note, the original scenario writer for Chrono Trigger, Masato Kato, worked on Chrono Cross's scenario as well, but actually, there's another game he worked on, called "Radical Dreamers," which was released between Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross. This was an adventure game released on the Super Famicom online gaming system called the Satellaview. Radical Dreamers served as the bridge between Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross. Gamers who have played all three games can probably figure out the connection, but since the media itself was so unique, I don't think many players know about it. As a result, we had to make sure players could play Chrono Cross without being too conscious of its connection to Chrono Trigger. This is why we have the title "Chrono Cross" instead of "Chrono Trigger 2."

if you're going to quote something read beyond the cherry picked part that supports your view

there is faaaaar too much in chrono cross that ties into the original snes chrono trigger.. and there are sequels and there are games in the same universe. and that is what chrono cross is.. as for radical dreamers. that's where you learn guile is actually magus

What are you trying to prove with that quote, to further support my argument? Learn how to read, It's basically stating that it's a spinoff that's why they went with the name "Chrono Cross" instead of "Chrono Trigger 2", so thank you for further proving my point as to why people are allowed to dismiss it.

it also says they are connected. which is my point.. a sequel doesn't have to have anything to do with the original

Duh, what do you think a Spinoff means? Obviously it's connected no one is arguing that fact. But also since it's a spinoff and it's only loosely connected as I already stated continuing the bad timeline "The Fall of Guardia", do your research before you start an argument. Also because it's loosely connected from one bad timeline, that means it's only canon on that one timeline, but Chrono Trigger has multiple endings, therefore can undo Chrono Cross, as I already proven as stated by the creators, it's not a direct sequel, stated from their mouths not mine. Also what do you mean a sequel doesn't have anything to do with the original? You are correct if we are in an agreement that "Chrono Cross" isn't a direct sequel, but as I been saying all this time ITS A SPINOFF!

So going back to Killa_khronic420 statement "it had very little to do with trigger", he's 100% correct! He didn't say it had "nothing" to do with trigger, he was right when he said "little" which 100% describes this spinoff.

The last thing I EVER want to witness in my lifetime is any Squaresoft game I held in high regard as a youngster get raped by Enix.

It's bad enough that I've already seen Enix crap on various Final Fantasy games and Mana games. Can we please NOT let them also crap on Chrono Cross?
