ERROR: Can't open configuration file

There seem to be many Bugs that causes the Game not to start.
Mine does not start too and gives me the following Error:
Error: 3889861889 : 337
Can't open configuration file : 'config.txt'
Someone else got that Error - or maybe someone who fixed it?

Go to https://steamidfinder.com/lookup/ and search for your ID, it's the steamID64 that the folder used.

Permissions, gotta be. Run as admin for now, fix your permissions later. I wont hold your hand through that part, though

I was thinking about the same - tried to fix it in at least 4 ways - but nothing changes

Nope - does not work at all. Tried another 3 methods to solve it - but no, still no progress

Huh. Go to the root directory for the game and just make an empty config.txt? Maybe do a steam validation?

Tryed it already... XD
Both, btw... An empty config.txt and revalidation, also restarting computer and all..
No success also..

Also a good idea, had it myself - also not working :/ I even tried to copy the config-file of a friend (his games is working... except for many crashes lul) but also, no Progress

Also, not a PC minimum requeriments, since the game is light and I'm using a i7 with 32GB Ram and a GTX 1070, I can run The Division 2 on max configs, so yeah...
Sad...

I see ppl are having other problems different tha it too..

Yup :D I was thinking of that as you mentioned the text-file-thing before...Duh, hope SE goes on for a Patch since my error is only one of faaaaaar more bugs right now... As I can see the Steam-Threads, many Starting-Errors and Crashes occure right now.

Most of them are because people bought a turn-key gaming laptop without understanding how it works and don't know how to set graphics card affinity.

Config file goes in C:\Users\...\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VIII Remastered\Steam\76561197987795885 apperently

Yupe - Except for the ID that will change :D - I am still trying to fix the eror on many ways. guess now, I am on try number 12 - and slowly I get out of ideas....
