"Sequence contains no elements" error??

I've tried to reinstall the game a few times, restarting my pc, verifying files, but still the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game wouldn't launch??

Keep getting the "System.InvalidOperationalException: Sequence contains no elements" message. Anyone having this similar issue and any idea how to solve it?

I get the exact same thing. No idea how to fix it. Have tried verifying files and reinstalling, but still the same error.

Update your graphics drivers and if you have a laptop, make sure it's running on your high performance card.

is this a specific solution to this problem or just general advice as my nvidia drivers are already up to date.

It's worked for every other error so far. Double check that it's running on your high-performance card, just trust me. It's not autodetecting for everyone.

Fixed it, make a file called config.txt in this directory
C:\Users\[YourUserName]\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VIII Remastered\Steam\[Numbers]

Should mention this lets you play but not change the settings it seems. Might work if we can get someone elses config.txt

For some reason, I don't have this directory on my game folder. It just has the language folders.

It's not in the game folder, it's in the My Documents folder. Sorry for confusion.

another thing you can try is this, which also worked. Rename the FFVIII_LAUNCHER.exe to FFVIII_LAUNCHER.exe.bak and then rename FFVIII.exe to FFVIII_LAUNCHER.exe. Then run it through steam, this bypasses the launcher but only if the config.txt file exists.

another piece of advice, if you get the game to run with the empty config file, it populates it with settings, I don't know if all the settings are in there, but try editing them manually until you get the settings you want, mine look like this after I edited them.

height 1080
language EN
mastervol 100
bgmvol 100
screenmode 3
display 0
cameraspeed 4
brightness 50
antialiaslevel 1
firstboot 1

this gives borderless fullscreen, english language, 1080p resolution and seems to work fine but there are black bars all around the screen, which I'm not sure are supposed to be there or not.
