I mean that the best looking version is still PCSX2 emulated to 4K and with the filtering and anti-aliasing enabled in options.
Because it is ironically most stable and best looking version :)
I've played it on PC version and emulated even on android phone, I like the game a lot.
To me it's the best FF game there is, which many people agree with (more people like FF7 more of course).
Maybe I just showed how little I know about emulation :P
It has been a while :D
Now I mess around with PS3 and switch emulators. Currently playing Fire Emblem Three houses, but it crashes a bit.
Crusader: Do you have any tips on how to make the pre-rendered backgrounds look better? Everytime I try to play FFVII or another game using pre-rendered backgrounds etc on emulator, the polygonal characters look great but the backgrounds look awful.
That is actually something common, because 2D static pictures can not just be upressed like the 3D models (even with low res textures on them, they are not aliased).
In those cases, you can often play with filters that often bring great results for both 2D art and text.
