Crash Before Launcher

I can't even get to the launcher before I get an error message. I get an error message that says, "System.InvalidOperationException: Sequence contains no element
at FF8_Launcher.FF8ConfigFile.WriteDefaultFile(String path)
at FF8_Launcher.FF8ConfigFile.Read(String Path)
at FF8_Launcher.FF8Launcher..ctor()
at FF8_Launcher.Program.Main()"

If anyone knows of a fix, please let me know.

I solved it by creating "config.txt".
If there is no "config.txt" file in the following folder, please create it.
hope your problem will be solved.

I’m an idiot when it comes to this stuff. How do I go about adding this?

Just go to Documents > My Games> Final Fantasy VIII Remastered > Steam > (random numbers)

When you create the config.txt file, right click an empty spot, go down to new, create a text document, and name it config (do not add .txt at the end).

After that, start the game up and it should work. You'll need to manually edit the config file however to get the settings you want.

Once you start the game, it will auto populate. You will need to open it to configure your settings.

Just FYI, 0 = Full screen, 1 = Borderless, 2 = Windowed

Finally the launcher is working thanks ! but now, when i click on "new game" have an other problem ... "An unknown exception has occured" thats all and when i press "ok" FF8 crash....

hey dude i made the config txt and i can launch but its in japanese , its in windowed mode, and i cant access settings. game will launch now but i cant fix settings.

Same issue here. Have config file and tried all the other solutions. Game can't launch correctly
