-100% perfect implementation of 60 fps without breaking a single game mechanic or animation.
-Lots of graphic options including MSAA, Ambient Occlusion, Depth of Field, Shadow Quality etc
-CGI movie files are still at 30 fps but being output at 60 fps to prevent any form of microstuttering and jittering.
-Artwork and characters were improved without compromising the original artistic design.
-3 soundtrack options to choose from (PS2's chip original, Studio's CD release and Reorchestraded).
-No input lag
-No stuttering
-No bugs as long as you keep the game at locked refresh rate.
-Mods to bring back the original's difficulty and License Board if you want to.
There is just no debate on FFXII's PC release. It is one of the (if not the) most polished and flawless remastered products you can ever purchase on the market. And this is coming from someone who's been suffering through atrocious Japanese PC ports since the dark age of PC porting (1990-2010).
It's a shame that the very same company that delivered FFXII: The Zodiac Age can also put such a mediocre product like FF8's "Remaster" on the market. Good luck to you guys who purchased it.
I'm honestly ignorant about anything FF XII related because I played it on the PS2 and hated almost every second of it so I ignored any news of the remake.
When I played the original I saw it as a game that you're meant to watch as opposed to play given how important Gambits seemed to be. Plus the idea of Sky PIRATES having to get licenses to use the new sword they just found seemed thematically braindead to me.
As someone who hated the original's combat system, progression system and at least 1/3 of the main cast, would you recommend that I try Zodiac Age?
