Is there an advantage to shorter missions?

Is there an advantage to taking shorter duration missions than longer ones or vice/versa? I've been taking missions that are only 3 days when I can, thinking there might be an advantage in it but so far I haven't seen an advantage, though, I haven't gotten all the way through a game yet.

Well, that's less time for morale to drop via attrition, more chances to get a mission in a given district to drop attrition, more chances to recruit unique characters, more chances to collect weapons, more opportunities to combat morale loss with excursions...

In exchange, the game itself takes longer, more missions can theoretically mean more chances for things to Go Wrong, more opportunity for districts to gain attrition....
