I hope it can help a bit. Using Geisha as Dragon is very important always
I like to make hotkey groups - ctrl+number creates one, shift+number adds units to one. I put all ranged units into one hotkey group, all melee ones in the other, and let the melee one protect (G button) a ranged unit. Then I just use my ranged units to target down buildings, microing them away from and focus firing any reinforcements that come. This keeps all the melee guys from running off into the base by themselves. I don't like how slow the powder kegs are, so I use archers and chemists in a 50/50 split. The battlegear for the chemists from the fireworks factory sets a building on severe fire immediately, so I set a couple buildings ablaze and while the fire does its work I shoot at the others.
The geisha thing is quite annoying, I agree. I usually put them on horses if I can and micro them around in a seperate control group.
