There are no known ways to fully prevent desyncs as it is random
As nobody from the players has answered this question, I'll step in. :)
Are these problems possible to fix? Yes. The team is aware and will be figuring this out.
You can play 1 vs 1 matches online just fine in 90% of the cases. Other 10% are desyncs which either happen on the game start (it's easy and quic to just rehost the game). I played a lot of these since the latest patch.
More players means more chances for a synchronization error to pop up. 2 vs 2 games can be played just fine maybe in 70-80% of the cases. I played a bunch of these since the latest patch.
I also had success playing 2 vs 4 AI games, but haven't played many games, just a couple.
If you're looking to play 3 vs 3, 4 vs 4, you'll most definitely have issues. If you're looking to play 3 vs 5 AI, this is probably 50-60% success.
'Success' meaning no desync throughout the whole game.
The best way is to try it all yourself though, there is a bunch of factors at play so the games may work for some, and not work for others.
Hope that helps!
