i considering to buy it too ^^
Thnx for the warning... I still think that I will buy it though, It's been years since I haven't played it.
Good question, I already own the game on GoG. Will it get updated to Zen Edition now!?
The main priority will be the Steam version, for a rather long time.
Perhaps once the Steam version is out of Early Access, all changes will be transferred to the GOG release.
Hhmmm.... so... basically... I don't really have to buy it on Steam, since I already bought it on GoG last BlackFriday!? (Yes, I am a poor bastard).
1) Nobody really expected BR to return, so the GOG release was put on sale or free giveaways quite often. Which... sort of damages the overall income.
Though it also adds some populartiy if people are to see the updated verison. Besides, those GOG users who bought it sort of deserve to get the updated version. It's problematic all around.
The final decision (to update or to put a new release on GOG) has to be stated by Ed Del Castillo, he hasn't really commented on that yet.
So I can't really say what's going to happen to the GOG release.
2) The Steam release will have something GOG release won't, but it's 100%- Steam-side a.k.a trading cards, badges, wallpapers etc. One can live without that, but many people like these features.
3) While Multiplayer crossplay is definitely in the plans, it may as well not happen with the GOG version.
Basically, anything about GOG for now is terra incognita. Steam has the team's focus. I will inquire Ed as to what he thinks about this.
4) Something to keep in mind: while SteamBR is in Early Access, it costs 2 times less money. Its price tag will rise once it's fully released. It won't go on sale too (only after some time passes since the full release).
Thanks for making the Advantages clear, but for me... the only reason I would buy it on Steam, would be the Multiplayer community of course, you can't expect many or any players in the lobby from GoG. Btw... when is the Release date planned!? Thank you.
