Battle Realms: Zen Edition

Battle Realms: Zen Edition

Are you serious... this time?
Personally I was disappointed by the Kickstarter and Greenlight years ago. The card game was in focus. Everyone I know had problems with the genre switch and lost interest, including myself.
I don't know the background story. Why trying something new if the players are happy with one of the best RTS games ever?
Battle Realms 2015 on Steam; Final testing followed by years of silence.

It's time for a remake or better: Battle Realms 2. The formula is good, no need for extreme changes or new mechanics. Just bring it to 2019 standards with a new story.

Now I ask myself: "Should I buy Battle realms for a third time? Should I support Ed?"
Can you assure to use the funds wisely on the RTS genre?
Or is this just "making a profit" before the next phase of silence starts?

best wishes

Then refund it if you didn't like it. You're trying to overcomplicate things.

Ed had been so passionate about reviving the game for several years and it's quite unfair that you're taking this as a way of making profit smh.

Greetings, Rhaxus.

You may find the following post[www.facebook.com] useful. Alternatively, you can navigate to the store page of Battle Realms and read the explanation on why this game is in Early Access, Ed also explains his future plans there.

Battle Realms Legends (that card game) was a way to generate funding for the sequel as explained by Ed Del Castillo. The campaign didn't succeed, and so didn't the plans about BRL and BR2. The SteamBR version is now here, and is planned to be improved as long as there's support, so it's something.

Cheers!

I realize this isn't BR related fully, but I figured I'd ask ( I plan on buying this, I never played it at launch, excited for a new RTS. The EA version has all the campaigns in, yeah? ).

Is there any chance of getting the other Liquid Ent RTS games on Steam? I -loved- Dragonshard, and would love to buy it on Steam. Never played the LOTR game, but it also looks fun.

Or is that kind of out of your hands, and up to Atari/LOTR Estate.

Was he though? Because he well knew that nobody would be interested in a card game Battle Realms, RTS is where it's at. He just wanted to try to cash in on the card game hype. A real successor was never tried on Kickstarter.

Good question, but I'm not sure what other IPs Ed owns now. BR will be the main focus.

The EA version will have all the content from BR:WOTW, yes.

Battle Realms Legends had been in the works long before the launch of Hearthstone that set the trend for interactive TCGs. I remember mentions about BRL (aka Battle Realms Genesis) from 2011-2012 even. So let's not jump to conclusions.

You might also want to read this.

Not that it matters though, as the original game that started it all is here, and that's where we expect your support. :)

Perhaps an expansion to this game adding 2 or 3 more clans, could besused to test the waters for a BR2.

I would suggest a Shark Clan (based on european explorers) and a Turtle Clan (based on SEA kingdoms) as a way to expand the universe's lore, while not taking away from the 4 traditional Clans.

A naval base expansion (even if without actual naval units, since BR is not built for it), would add some new flavour, and explain how Gunpowder and Muskets got to the original Clans.
