Prequel, prologue campaigns
Hello looking to buy all of the dlcs and play them in order.
Are the prequel and prologue campaigns 2 things or the same ? Cant find an answer to that, if so which to play first ?
I assume I should play barbarian, empire and lizardman campaigns after that ones.
Thanks

By Prequel I guess you mean the one in the upgrade pack? Tale of Falir is a standalone campaign about things before Invasion, a 3-scenario mini campaign, I personally suggest it to be played after you finished Invasion and have some knowledge of the game.

The Prologue on Steam is actually the Onslaught mode short campaign The Curse which is already included in the base version, so they are two different things. You can choose your own starting hero and a small warband comes with him or her, then collect more in the run.
The Curse is a prologue of Empire Aflame campaign, which should also be before Invasion if we talk about the timeline, but in another side of view.

So things goes this way if you want some kind of chronicle for the current FG2:
Tale of Falir (Short Barbarian, in upgrade DLC), The Curse (Short Onslaught, Lizardfolk not available, free as a demo and in base game), Evolution (Medium Lizardfolk, in Evolution DLC)

Invasion (Long Barbarian, base game)

The Amulet of Power (Medium Onslaught, in Onslaught DLC)

Empire Aflame (Long Empire, in Empire Aflame DLC)

Does this any content to the main game like units and heroes and such?

No, Onslaught adds new units for Invasion, and Evolution adds a dozen of artefacts, the other DLCs are standalone campaigns/content packs that won't affect each other (Onslaught mode campaigns will have more available hero choices if you own other DLCs, except the upgrade pack).

Hmm, no sandbox mode with all the content in it? I haven't played this in a hot minute.

You can create custom maps yourself with the editor and play skirmish mode with it, I'm not sure if that could be called "sandbox mode". FG2 really isn't a sandbox game with some open world to explore and fight, if that's what you want.

Yea, I was hoping they would add that. :(
