Dragon egg and etc strange item

Also wondering if it was on the same map, at least i was not able to find anything suitable looking at the minimap...i might have missed the dragon egg as well, there was some text finding a huge pile of dragon bones in the swamp, no egg found in the ruins atop the pile though...

It will be further in a hellish mission (at least on hard) with a large imperial army

Thanks :) now only to solve this map puzzle, i am enjoying the game difficulty so far, playing on normal though, so some bad decisions are forgiving even against the overwhelming odds

It will cost you 500g or a rare helmet, but it's worth it. Then they will make themselves feel like the Mother of dragons =)

I was able to get the dragon by choosing to do the side quest of killing the Slaver, and kept the egg in my inventory. So, there must be a reason why you, the devs., let me keep the egg right? Just give us a hint on how to hatch it, please? ;)

Will it hatch after the Onslaught DLC drops?

I think the egg is only there to be given to that dragon...so keep it won't do you anything.

It's more like I was hoping that it would provide some benefit other than staring at its beauty in my inventory.
I figured out the first letter and received a purple armour with +10 regeneration, +4 armour and -1 speed.
I figured out the second letter and received a free tracker/assassin unit that requires 0 supply.
I figured out the message in a bottle and got something, but forgot what it is.
Changing the date to Christmas Day on your computer will unlock the Santa map.
I cannot figure out the treasure map one as yet though???

Notice the pattern of everything having a purpose. I think it would be fun to keep the egg, in an inventory slot of 1 of your characters for 2 or 3 missions and then it hatches into a baby dragon that follows the character around - dealing 50 magic/fire damage to whatever that character attacks, gives +1 sight range and the dragon has the intercept trait for air units dealing only its 50 magic damage (not the character's total damage).

This would not only be fitting with all of the hidden gems the devs came up with in this game, but also a perfect, unique item addition for the Onslaught DLC soon to come.

The treasure map points at an island in the sea east to the sunken land, gives 500 gold. The bottle message gives a random artifect (usually purple). Onslaught DLC adds Giant Eagle and some kinds of eagle riders to the Barbarian, and more kinds of pegasus riders for the empire, unfotunately no dragons.

the tooltip gives just some note text about the fog and an island and that there is something big in the skies. No action buttons or menu

You have to find and click on the map where there is an island fits the description best, and then an dialog will come out. There is no button for it.
