The good news is that Panzer Corps 2 is coming out soon. For PC2, see https://store.steampowered.com/app/1072040/Panzer_Corps_2/?snr=1_7_15__13
The bad news is, like nick the devil, I still play Panzer Corps (as recently as last week) and I have heavily modified it to add hundreds of units, etc., so I am holding my breath to see if any of my mod will update to PC2.
You might also like "Panzer Strategy" (unit upgrade system is better than PC) and its successor "Strategic Mind: The Pacific" (like old SSI Pacific General).
I think battle brothers comes here in mind to be the more fun game with deep complexity ! Great game I will continue with after FG2 !
And dont´forget......in december Phoenix Point comes out ;-)
Battle Brothers is a gem. Truly. There's really nothing like it, down to the silly head-and-torso figurine style.
In spite of that, it's not silly in any way - it nails the grimdark feel and it has an exquisitely written story. All the more impressive for it being a sandbox game.
Can't recommend it highly enough :)
And Phoenix Point, aaah.. we'll see. UFO Enemy Unknown reborn or not :)
Since I grew up racing home to play pong on the atari this is nice to see it is stll around
Darklands :) also alt+shift to make dosbox windowed or note. makes it easy to get to the manual :) and ya, back in those days you had to work a little to enjoy the games. Midi and pixels was cutting edge back then.
For what it's worth, I also highly recommend it.
It's the baby of Julian Gollop, the father of ye olde (think 90s old) X-Com series (up to including Apocalypse). It's a spiritual successor to the first couple (and most successful) of the series.
A very Lovecraftian story too :)
Sadly, if I remember correctly, it migrated to Epic Store in spring(ish).
They made the same argument that others did, that the smaller store cut allowed them extra budget for dakkadakka.
Which, to be honest, I think it's perfectly true in their case. It's a small team, mostly bulgarian, even if with the TBS Wizard at their head.
Release date is sometime in December.
