What is there to do in this game?

I am used to basic MMO RPG games with all the tropes that are found here. Besides crafting and grind farming what is there to do in the game? Is this the only map? Is there more beyond this map? Am I stuck in this small town forever with no progression beyond the basic grind? Is tthere anything unique about this game to make a player want to keep playing?
