Will these changes affect saved games in any way? Will we need to start over? Can we play the saved games without the update (meaning: revert back to older version)?

Anyone tested this game before release? 'Listening to the community' and making changes looks like a beta phase. I remember that something similar happened with the previous Port Royale game and it didn't look good... I'm still waiting for 50% discount :pirate:

All I know is that fame loss from governing towns is huge.... I cannot supply the only town I govern enough to keep from losing fame about half the time no matter how many supplies I dump in it. I basically have to out gain the fame loss to gain my next point.

First, I glad devs have been constantly improving this game, I think recent patch (version 1.2) has improved game experience (especially trade route part) considerably,
EXCEPT governing town! Who on earth suggested player has to supply town more than 50% town commodity supply share to avoid fame loss??????? It render early in game (first 2 year) impossible to accumulate fame point and even in late game some days in between my fleets visiting hometown I still losing fame for supplying hometown less than 50% of share.

i suggest lower fame point penalty threshold to 20% of town commodity supply share, and since player is taking a risk here, if player is supplying town more than 50% of share, award player a bonus of 1 fame point a day, if more than 80%, award 2 fame point a day.

Another problem is, now town has too many sailors looking for jobs, a town with 1500 inhabitants has 2000 sailors looking for job at market, is that normal? Maybe someone typed an extra zero somewhere by mistake?

And a small typo, "Activate this checkbox if ..... to unload all commodities into the warehouse between the load/sell and buy/load actions." I think what you really trying to say is "between the unload/sell and buy/load actions." right?

I think totally the same, the Loss with 5 Points per Day too huge. I have 2 Cities with Full Controll and lose in a short Time over 700 Fame. Maybe 5 Points each Week ? But each Day is absolutey too heavy.

Hi Devs,

first, I would like to praise you for the updates on the trade routes and especially "A", "D" mechanics. I think it should have been there from the start, since You have already implemented that system in Rise of Venice, but oh well...

I still think there are some issues on trade route setup:
1) There is no possible way to limit the amount of a certain good on a route.
Here is an example: If I want to distribute clothing, I would like to have 100 units at all time and never more to prevent buying more than demanded on the route. Currently I can buy 100 units and sell along the route, but when I get to the next supply colony, I buy another 100 units. It is OK if I have sold all of it. But if the colonies demand too little clothing, I will buy 100 units on top of what is left in my convoy, which makes no sense. The only way to prevent this is to use the easy trade routes setting. I like playing these games on highest difficulties and I want to set up trade routes myself and have tools to do just that. The current system is just awfully bad. Still, thanks for the unload all button.

2) I also think that it is extremely easy to make supply surpluses, which destroys the enjoyment of campaigns, but also the free play. The oversupply may be accurate nowadays, but back than demand was greater than supply for most cases.
Maybe it would not be a bad idea to increase demand in cities.
To prevent the game from being easier, maybe You could:
a) add a lot more danger to Caribbean,
b) increase the upkeep of combat ships to make it harder to trade all over the place carefree,
c) make pirates steal more or even a whole load.

I have checked the Roadmap and am excited about the upcoming content. I hope along the way You would also consider some of the concerns of us, Your customers. One thing that I am sad to again not see in Port Royale 4 is creating Your colony from scratch. The upcoming independence idea is OK, but I would rather settle my own colony instead, just like back in the good old days of Port Royale 2.

Best regards!

I absolutely agree with every word spoken there. Personally I play games to relax and unwind and with this part of the update I feel like the game just added stress and annoyance and stopped being relaxing fun gameplay. Either drastically lower the penalty or make it an option to turn on or off depending on preference, please. I really enjoyed it the way it was before the update and played quite alot, after the update I get stressed out and irritated. Have not really played at all after the update because of it. It's just not fun anymore.
There was alot of good stuff that came with the update, as stated in the quote from "gq" but this governance addition has completely ruined it for me personally.

Thank you for a otherwise really enjoyable fun game :)

Nice improvements, keep it up! The game is changing!
Captains are great, and the bonuses from them are good, but one thing is missing - the captain can not only fight but also trade, I would like to add the captain's economic bonus (trading talent) when buying and selling goods, for example, 2% - 5% - 8% - 12%
