I have my own Fav Programming language such as Purebasic or BlitzMax(I know it is old but it is very soild programming language as much more cleaner code than AGK Studio !!! )
And pure basic is also an oldie goldie around since "decades"
I have changed the colours and theme on the Classic Geany editor, loaded plugins that I require, set indentation markers etc. I personally find the coding experience far better on classic.
I have both. I use AGK Classic (AGK2).
- The AGK2 Geany IDE is more configurable/customizable.
- Search/Replace are full featured panels, not tiny boxes with teeny one-letter buttons
- AGK2 Replace feature has "Session" and "Open Documents" options, AGKS does not
- The symbols/functions/variable lists are more visible and useful
- AGKS doesn't acknowledge the splash and setup files that AGK can use
- AGK2 has asterisk and color change on tabs of files that were changed but not saved. Yes, those are now a dot in the first column in AGKS, which is an odd way of doing things.
- AGKS arbitrarily alphabetizes project files in the tab. There is no logical reason to do so.
- The AGKS Help feature doesn't have Help for any of the core commands.
- AGK2 help pages have more info/examples than AGKS in-editor help pages
- Basic functions missing from the menu. Save All is only available as a toolbar icon
- AGKS lacks industry standard Alt-key and arrow controls for Menu navigation
- AGK2 has a color picker
- The comment/uncomment in AGKS context menu is kind of useless because it uses some bizarre "//~" comment system. If you did not adopt their arbitrary system, 'uncomment code' no longer works. So far I have found no way to change their "//~" nonsense.
- AGKS' selling point is Vulkan. AGK2 and OpenGL on AGKS are faster. (source: https://forum.thegamecreators.com/thread/226536 )
AGK kicks ass.
AGK2 is great.
AGKS is... not kicking any ass and not great.
Thank you and have a nice weekend!
They're great books, right? Extremely helpful for learning and reference.
You have a great weekend, too!

The eBooks are TOP!! Really worth the money! But the website where you can buy this Books is crap and it looks like a page from 1998. After you paid for the books, you have to wait until 24h for the download Link (LOL) I thought this is a joke for 2020 when i bought those 2 books. But the Books itself they are extremely helpful and made with passion and love. I can recommend them to everyone. Because YouTube Tutorials are almost not existent or not what i was looking for or made from kids where you can hear the Notebook fan beside the microphone :-)

LOL !!! yes ha ha not "F F F" i mean "255 255 255" for white! OMG :-( Embarrassing
Why do these devs never make 3 different person use their program before release?
-a brand new person who never programmed before but enthousiast to learn
-a person who publish one game with another program
-a user of the latest version of the product that was develop before this one (AGK2-AGK)
and see what everyone think they should do to improve the program and make it right?...
I mean , I am not a professional game developer but I am tempted to upgrade !
