Surprised it wasn't explained very well in the videos they have. I usually don't like card games, but this seems interesting take on a 4X game so willing to learn more. After all, what is the difference between cards and stats to a unit? They are both animated in this game, so it might be easier to play because we see the stats on the cards and don't need to remember what does what.
So if it's a combination of both genres, I am willing to look at it more. Caveat for me is, usually mixing two or more genres in a game is not a good thing, but I look past it since it's a company trying to do something new and not same old same old. Innovation should always be encouraged and I am willing to support that.
To clear things up:
Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars is a classical turn-based strategy game first.
It is not a card game.
We are using card elements as a nice, distinguishable and appealing way of displaying spells and actions.
Cheers,

It is a lot more approchable then many other 4X games out there for sure. It's low on complexity, but the right amount of depth.
