Sure being quiet isn't always good, but hey... they've 100% not abandoned it, and it's updated regularly, we just can't get access to any updates yet.. clearly they are doing it with dev build or whatever....

It looks like back in March, there was a lot of activity with builds for testing and this was the norm almost daily since forever before that. A look back in the history, this activity might be automated and not necessarily manual updates of their testing branch. This is evident in the descriptions
qa_update Testing branch of update. Automatically updated at the end of the day.
qa_staging Testing branch of staging. Automatically updated at the end of the day.
qa_main_2 QA testing branch. Automatically updated midday.
qa_main_1 Testing branch. Automatically updated at the end of the day.
Basically they have, or had, something automatically updating things whether or not they actually changed things for a very long time and we can draw no conclusions from this information except that there hasn't been even automatic updates since March. Seems to be abandoned to me, currently and for many months.
Second Extinction is more like Deep rock, vermintide, Darktide, Aliens Fireteam, and other PVE Co Op Horde extraction shooters.
SE does not pit you against a team of other players that can sabatoge your progress, nor does it force you to compete against the other team to accomplish the PVE aspect faster.
Until Exoprimal has confirmed PVE exclusive modes, it's not a 1-1 replacement for Second extinction. Deep rock Galactic is the next best thing
Incorrect. Those games actually have player bases and still receive updates.
This has neither.
P.S.
It's definitely been abandoned.
Valve has stopped giving ♥♥♥♥ about their reputation many moons ago. So don't count on them for consumer friendly actions. Just look at all of the asset flips, hentai porn and all kinds of other garbage that's made it onto this platform ever since they abandoned "Greenlight" and introduced "Early Access" and other ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Nothing but bloatware and clutter. It's been a downwards slope since then. Just getting a refund is like pulling ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ teeth dealing with them.
