Game isn't abandoned (check here)
https://steamdb.info/app/1024380/history/

Loads of build changes and stuff in may, and updates! It's clearly still being worked on, so clearly we'll get some big update in the future or so.. probably massive surprise!

I'm not holding my breath. No information has been released.. being quiet isn't a good thing. Not if you still want to sell the game.

Well as you can see the game is still under massive development by looks of the logs, and a bunch of it says "RELEASE" and they did say it will come in 2023! they could be making loads big changes to the game... then at last minute surprise everyone!

Sure being quiet isn't always good, but hey... they've 100% not abandoned it, and it's updated regularly, we just can't get access to any updates yet.. clearly they are doing it with dev build or whatever....

6/12: the change was done by Steam which was simply a recalculation of the positive review
calculation.
5/30: Minor changes imposed by Steam that were applied to tens of thousands of other games.
5/16: Major changes imposed by Steam that were applied to tens of thousands of other games.
5/6: Store tags change

It looks like back in March, there was a lot of activity with builds for testing and this was the norm almost daily since forever before that. A look back in the history, this activity might be automated and not necessarily manual updates of their testing branch. This is evident in the descriptions
qa_update Testing branch of update. Automatically updated at the end of the day.
qa_staging Testing branch of staging. Automatically updated at the end of the day.
qa_main_2 QA testing branch. Automatically updated midday.
qa_main_1 Testing branch. Automatically updated at the end of the day.

Basically they have, or had, something automatically updating things whether or not they actually changed things for a very long time and we can draw no conclusions from this information except that there hasn't been even automatic updates since March. Seems to be abandoned to me, currently and for many months.

nah it is dead, I tried this game for free on EPIC and it was atrocious.

This thread has a rather suspicious origin, and apparently misleading statements.

Soon there will be a release of exoprimal. After that, this game will definitely not be needed by anyone.:steamsad:
The Chuggernaught Jun 30, 2023 @ 1:53pm
@El Chapo Except the fact Exoprimal is an entirely different style game. Exoprimal is a competitive PVPVE Hero based extraction shooter. The only similarities it has is shooting dinosaurs gameplay wise and some minor pve elements

Second Extinction is more like Deep rock, vermintide, Darktide, Aliens Fireteam, and other PVE Co Op Horde extraction shooters.

SE does not pit you against a team of other players that can sabatoge your progress, nor does it force you to compete against the other team to accomplish the PVE aspect faster.

Until Exoprimal has confirmed PVE exclusive modes, it's not a 1-1 replacement for Second extinction. Deep rock Galactic is the next best thing

Incorrect. Those games actually have player bases and still receive updates.

This has neither.

P.S.

It's definitely been abandoned.

Even IF things would get tested, it makes no sense. You need a playerbase and player feedback for a game like this. There has been zero incentive to seek said feedback. Zero incentive to communicate with ppl who paid for it. It's very disrespectful as some of us, who like the game would be very willing to help out with feedback. I wish there was some kind of ruleset on Steam. Devs like these should not be allowed to release any more games on the platform.

Valve has stopped giving ♥♥♥♥ about their reputation many moons ago. So don't count on them for consumer friendly actions. Just look at all of the asset flips, hentai porn and all kinds of other garbage that's made it onto this platform ever since they abandoned "Greenlight" and introduced "Early Access" and other ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Nothing but bloatware and clutter. It's been a downwards slope since then. Just getting a refund is like pulling ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ teeth dealing with them.

Thanks for the free points!

I loved this game, sad to see theyve dumped it
Porter Aug 4, 2023 @ 4:34am
It's so sad when a new person makes these posts. All full of hope and trying to be optimistic. Then, those of us that have seen this before shine the light of reality on them. It's dead kid, go find a a finished game that the Devs still care about.
