Having a huge problem casting...
It's not working more than about 4 feet out. I tried every way of releasing the trigger at the top of the cast, the end, and the beginning. I cant figure out how to side cast. I cant cast at all!!! Is there something I'm missing? I changed the settings, restarted the game and nothing.

For the first 10 casts i also had a hard time, but now every 3rd or so is going to about 18m. Speed and release of trigger is important, for me a "whip-like" fast and short movement works best.
You can reset your cast quickly with left grip (Vive wands), that saves some time figuring this out ;)

should be fine, but I imagine it could be a problem on headsets that track the controllers via cameras on the headsets (WMR). On the Vive I'm not having a problem getting 30+ if I try for it. I do have a lot of IRL casting experience though, perhaps that's helping.

Vive here as well, no issues. I've cast 90-100 ft a couple of times. I go back slow, give the line a second to "fall back" then make an axe like throwing motion, releasing the trigger when rod/controller is about 45 degrees, plus or minus 10 degrees.

I'm on the Rift-S. so yea it could be inside tracking problem... I'll try it again tonight.

I'm on the original Rift. No problems.

Different VR controllers work differently (eg we had some problems with WMR) and we will make better adjustments for casting to make sure they all work comfortably. Tracking also might be problem (if hand is streched too much during cast the tracking stations might lose it).

Could you send a bug report after making a few casts?

Rift S here cant cast at all, I can see the rod moving but its like the cast isnt registering the momentum im putting behind it. When casting and releasing the trigger its like the bait resets and falls straight down.

Could you try the solution from link posted by fiammo? As it seems to be the Rift S controllers problem that some users have:

"Take the battery cover off the controller and try again"

I got it working, seems the release point is farther back then i thought and i have to make sure to have my finger completely clear of the trigger. It really is an awesome game great work devs! I am glad I came back after origionally getting horribly frustrated, but thats my fault :) Caught a monster rainbow trout off a spinner!
