Bought items not going to barter zone storage...disappearing

I'm on my 3rd instance of this... I buy several items at the supply store when I start (2 battery chargers, extra batteries, grinder, drill, backpack) and when I finish the buy, I'm holding the backpack and a bought item or two but the rest have disappeared. They aren't on my ship in the barter zone (even though it was checked when buying) or on the ground in fromt of the shop or anywhere I can find. Help!
