Report a translation problem
In my experience a baseball bat is the best weapon to deal with Pirates. Assuming you are built for combat, so far it has been a guaranteed one hit knockout every time. Strip them after and they die of suffocation.
Letting a pirate live is very buggy. I recommend not doing so. Things I've seen happen:
Brought to kleg - They were permanently quasi hostile after and constantly attempted to mug me, following me around the station. Police will not intervene, and you will be a criminal if you fight back.
Hired as crew - They'll be a criminal and constantly make you a target for police.
Left on their ship - Permanent target track from their ship (only when they board you) until you go back and murder them properly.
Wear your EVA suit, after you knock the a-hole out, strip him naked, use tools to punch a hole in the ships hull, then drag the body over the hole and select "jettison". Problem solved.
I also just, for the first time, had an issue where the character could not eat. It consumed Trenchers and deleted it but hunger never went down and the animation did not play.
Maybe there is an issue where certain actions just don't work anymore, and dying could be affected
this is all in as few frames (seconds) as possible. When I say "airlock" I mean the actual door object, the thing you right click and it calls "Airlock"
1. wear an EVA suit, an EVA helmet, a handgun with 20 round of ammo in your right hand, and a machete in your left
2. get targeted by a pirate
3. stand in front of the airlock ready to open it
3. wait for the pirate to dock
4. open your airlock and pause
5. walk into your airlock
6. close the airlock on yourself
7. open the enemy airlock while clipping inside your closed airlock
8. wait for the pirate to open the door
9. shoot the pirate before he can talk to you
10. slash the pirate (to death) with the machete (or cutlass also works) the instant he gets within range
(alt. 10) slash the pirate so hard with the machete that he can die before he talks to you
then the pirate will get back up after death and be invulnerable in a strange bugged combat. I have, however, seen other npcs in this state. I think an npc in KLEG in the commercial zone became like this after witnessing me steal her crate and not calling the police, but I haven't tried to kill her so I can't be sure
