* Are you in Untime?
* Have you recently used Super Ffwd in a non-work shift, if so go to the Roster screen and fully rotate the shift for the *hour that you are currently on* to work. If it doesn't work rotate it again.
* Is there a reason they can't work - See below:
Checklist for Non-Building:
* Can they Path to it (both pathing to pick up the item, as well as pathing to the build location), some placeholders (walls, equipment) can block movement, so if you're trying to build a closed room that'll do it.
* Do they have the correct tool/enough tool battery to do the job
* Is another crewmember claiming the job and they can't get to it
* Is the item they are installing available (i.e. present, or not in a damaged state)
* If using Autotask, is autotask activated and do they have/need Open Airlock permission (bear in mind Open Airlock counts for any door where there's a pressure variation, not just the main exterior airlock.)
* If you're unable to place down install orders, are you in the right ship? Orders can be placed anywhere but install orders must be placed from the same ship.
Ways to help tell if something is up:
* Mouse over the install order/order, if it flashes red there should be some kind of reason listed. If it reads StatBattery is out that means a tool has no battery and is not currently functional, either the battery will need to be replaced or rechanged.
* Check your Tasks list to see what the character's current focus is. This will also show reasons for work not happening.
If you dont, they will just stand still and look at their PDAs doing nothing, except dying in their EVA suits.
When you press F3 you can see some errors sometimes about too many jobs.
