WTF is wrong with towing brace installation?

Trying to install a salvaged towing brace, and no matter what I try I can't seem to get rid of the red spot in the center. What do I do with the damn thing?

You need to install it over your airlock, when positioned correctly the red square will turn green.

I literally did this same thing the other night... over an hour of ripping my airlock apart and putting it back together... only to find it was backwards the whole effin time.
