I think you can get crosshairs in empty space that won't drift if you target something like your ship or OKLG first, then switch the nav mode to Map Controls, and use WASD to reposition the crosshair to where you want it. Like an offset from a vessel.
Does that work?
Having it set to Target or Ship and map controls lets me move it around without issue, but if I put no target and map controls I can move around but still drifts to left so not a huge issue, but when I select no target I normal think nothing at all not the sun lol, but ya thanks for the help loving the game so far
That's because you are selecting a set point in space, but you and everything around you is travelling at speed(roughly to the right, at this point in the orbit with the default map orientation) so you rapidly move away from that set point. Your displayed velocity is only relative to your target.
im a good enough pilot at this point that it isnt a big deal, but when i was just learning it was a real pain in the *ss. and it doesnt look like a feature, it looks like a bug.
