bug at the star

Hey is anybody else having the same problem?

in the beginning area (Where you make your character) I can't move my character with the mouse and nothing i click on responds to commands. (Like the mirror).

i tried deleting the file and starting a new game but the problem persists.

Yeah, I got this after starting a new game when my first game bugged out a bit. I just restarted the game and it worked again.

I apologize if I'm being to simple- but I had the exact same problem. I didn't realize the game started paused, so, once I unpaused it, everything worked fine.

The problem I ran into was the game wouldn't respond to clicks at all, so I quit and restarted and it fixed. I'm sure they will patch this bug out. Same as the other guy, overwrote a save file.

Yep, just had the actual problem this time - I couldn't click anything. I had to restart the game. Just quitting the playthrough and restarting a character wasn't enough. I noticed I could still access inventory, time scaling, and the PDA functions, though.

Me too. I also tested it for a few times. I like to add a desc of lower-left corner of UI (char portrait char name, and status): rather than a normal cold or hunger status, there are 12 labels here all written "LABEL 99". Char name is followed by additional info like "Taylor Kylie Mays - IsFemale, Age: 18". It should also be noted that you can't solve this problem by deleting the old save and start a new one as long as the game program haven't closed and reopened.

Sorry for the freeze! This doesn't sound familiar, so I'm wondering what I did differently. I'll have to try some of these repro steps out.

But in any case, this'll need fixing, so we'll look into it!

Oh! Which reminds me. Is any of this happening on your first character?

Or is this after you've quit to main menu and started a subsequent character?

Wondering if this bug happens between games.

For me, it was my second character after quitting to the main menu

Yeah so first play is ok, when you come back to that menu, click a save slot, that next character is stuck and cant move. There are no indications that the character wants to move.

Also if you quit, reload the game, and try the save, it loads in, still doesn't work, but now the quit game also doesn't work. Quit the game, load a third time the save file has now disappeared.

I encountered this bug twice, both after i quit previous save and start a subsequent character.

The bug happened to me a second time (the next playthrough after the previous bugged start), and the solution of restarting the game worked again. After that, I can't get the but to happen even if I try. I've made 4 or 5 new characters, restarted the game, deleted save slots in different orders, etc, and the bug doesn't reappear.

Happened to me too, you gotta start a new character, this is the only thing working I've found so far.

Thanks for the clarifications! This might be a sign that the game needs to be closed and re-launched for now, until we figure out why multiple sessions is causing weirdness.

Yes for me it's always when I screw up and die, or quit and then want to start a new character. He becomes immobile and unselectable. You know how there is a slight light flare around the character when he's selected, that is gone when he's not able to move or interact with anything and he can't be clicked on. If that helps

Just want to confirm that I'm experiencing the same issue. There have been several times where my progress was halted by some other bug, so I attempted both to A) quit/reload the same character, and B) to quit, delete that character, and make a new character in any one of the 3 slots. Every time, when I start a new character back up, it puts me in the intro area, but none of the lights are on in the area and I am unable to right- or left-click anything.
