Too much fire
Its in the title. I think the RNG for a fire starting is too damn high. Its to the point that no ship that I ever have will ever have atmo because the second I go 16x a fire breaks out somewhere. I've spent hours repairing my conduit, only work on repairs/restores in vacuum, etc, but still the second I turn my back a fire breaks out and I have to vent and replace all the crap around the fire. I'm sorry, in this time line they MUST have figured out a solution for this otherwise EVERYONE WOULD BE DEAD. Please fix the fire RNG. Having the proper nitrogen ratio should make fire chance negligible and the current fire chance should only apply to high oxygen (no nitrogen) atmo. I love this game and have been playing it for a long time so I'm trying to make sure anyone trying to get into the game has a good time.

Are you using n2 + o2 in your lifesupport? i think with too much o2 chance is too high.
can't confirm. I only encountered fire when using damaged conduits etc., not when full repaired.

I'm using the usual n2 + o2 mix
Are you making sure that all burnable or flammable objects are in bins or crates? Make sure you don't leave those backpacks all over the ground.
My CO2 sensor was broken on my ship. Tried to fix it and the whole ship caught on fire.
I turned off air and opened the doors to vacuum the left over air into space, but the ship remained on fire and pretty much burned down half of my ship. :CryingGhost:
uninstall a floor and atmo immediately escapes.
and keep fire extinguishers handy :)
they work
i totally agree with the op, the fires start way too often.
I have had several fires spawn in a room, where everything was in top notch condition, and i have an atmosphere with n2. it has gotten so annoying that i uninstalled the game for now.
I hope, this will be fixed, when i get the urge to try again.
Is this a problem with the recent patch? Last I played was a week ago but I never saw a fire...
i only get fires when my conduits are in bad condition and 02/n mix is off, or if sparks from my tools land on trash. when my ship is clean and fixed have literally never had a fire
Fires are starting wayyyyyyyyyyyy too much yeah. Started a brand new game recently and in the middle of the tutorial my ship had pretty much completely been destroyed by fires. Crazy high RNG spawning, the way its calculated, whatever it is that deals with fire needs to be turned down massively.
I played over 100h on my v15 save and siting on a titanmax ship build from scratch with the mats from venus and the number of fires I had, I'm able to count by one hand.

The only time I really had trouble that way was as I installed a battery to my fixer-upper project to soon. atmo up but lots of faulty cables around. as long as they are in a good state and there isn't tooo much o2, fire really shouldn't be that much of an issue.
I have literally never had a fire and I have probably played 10-15 hours on the new patch. I keep my ship in a good state of repair though.

I had a similar issue, conduit caught fire and I opened my airlock to what I would expect stop the fire and instead the fire spread more :/

I haven't had a fire afterwards though, I only really didn't have much choice at the start because of needing to pay for things and such, but I do think the dumping atmos should stop fires, it's not like it's cheap so it's definitely a thing you should only do in an emergency.
