I've only approached twice and both times it was just lots of delta V to power myself in. The VORB approach has 0.11g of constant acceleration toward Venus which makes the reliable point and coast approach out at OKLG fail. You could literally drop in from above and let the gravity drag you toward the dock I guess but that would require being able to navigate reliably to a moving point relative to VORB. Is there a command for that I'm not aware of?
Technically you could do a ballistic approach using the time slider on the nav console. Check your ETA, run the time slider out to your ETA and then while focused on VORB adjust your trajectory accordingly to counteract gravity on your approach.
I sure hope there might be some easier way to approach with lesser player mental working and finger finesse involved.
As everytime it's always ended so high in Delta V(780m/s) within VORB no wake I had to give up and reload a save.
I did note on my second visit I managed to randomly dump luck myself on an approach that's close enough to allow low delta V docking to VORB.
I end up facing VORB on the far side of it's eclipse orbit, in between the sun and Venus in a position just outside of Venus Gravity well where I just zoom in for docking from 0m/s to 90m/s.
So I am curious if this approach had been experience by other players visiting Venus. Or that's always the case for Venus visitors less me being noob on it.
