Please let us disable the proximity warning noise
I'm docking, I can see exactly where the docking port is as I'm lining it up. I don't need the proximity alarm blaring in my ear.

Yes, please, please, just give us a switch to shut the proximity warning to OFF.
I agree with that, it helps in some situations. But its even worse when you are near a cluster of ships. The warning will continue to go off even when you are docked with a ship, because the others are still "nearby". So at the very least once you're docked no more of it period. I had to turn off the sound effects completely.

I've been meaning to add something for this, so it's on my list!

Wanted to bump this. I'm doing ship maintenance in port and it's giving me a headache -_-.

Sorry for the annoying alarm!

Way back when this was first reported (OP), there was no way to silence the alarm even temporarily. So we added a button that lets you clear it until a new contact is close.

But you're right that this can still be annoying if you're in a high traffic area.

We may someday add another button to disable that alarm completely. But in the meantime, if you want to silence it completely for a short while (like when doing maintenance at port), you can install a kill switch between the nav station and the conduit. That'll power down the nav until you toggle the switch again, which should silence both prox and tracking alarms.

That's actually a really good idea, thanks blue!

Thanks for that. I just moved my nav console and installed a power switch. Problem solved.
