Drinking Pouches and Flasks of Water - The Fluids of Life
A ggod day to you all. I`ve read in the forums that one is able to refill water from sinks into flasks or water pouches/ what I`ve not read is how one is able to do so. Which option does one pick From my perspective, it seems impossible.

My understanding is if you have a empty pouch in your hand, there should be an option on the sink to 'dispense liquid'. I personally don't bother with that and just use the normal inventory shifting to move water into the flask or pouch.

I see. In my character's home the are two sinks and from them I can drink and use the mirror. Is there some rule or specific way a sink must be installed in order to be able to dispense liquid, or to allow access to said inventory?

Edit: I drank quite often from the lower sink and the option vanished, remaining in the upper sink; how come? Is there a limited supply of water? Does it restock each day?

Ah, so there are two kinds of sinks. 'Station Sinks' which slowly refill water over time, but cannot be uninstalled, and plain 'Sinks' you can find on ships which will have a random but fixed amount of water and not refill but can be uninstalled and moved around. I think the sink in the starter cabin is a third unique kind of sink that has the look in mirror option, but I don't really hang around the starter wing after character creation.

Station sinks do refill slowly over time. It's a good source of water (if you have the hacking skill, you can use sinks in other "private" quarters around the station).

I have two sinks on my ship and a 8 liters jug. Whenever my sinks are low on water, I grab my 8 liter bottle, and visit every sink available in the station, grabbing every drop of water and filling my 8 liters bottle and then restock my sinks on the ship.

Using the "dispense water" is an option, but I prefer to open the sink inventory and with the bottle in my hands, transfer the water like you would transfer items on a backpack, for example. It's faster.

Boy, oh boy. Thanks a ton! I had no idea, this game just keeps on getting better (almost makes me feel like a criminal with monopoly on production of moonshine back in the day).

By the way, I can confirm one of the 'home sinks' has the 'inventory' and 'dispense water' options (even without available water) while the other doesn't. I also managed to grab a ship sink with the option, but, as stated, this one doesn't seem to refill even while waiting in the station.

Too bad the coffee doesn't refill… :(

Also, you can buy water flasks on the cheap by trading with Bartenders. Something like 4000+ Credits for a full 8L flask if I remember the numbers correctly.

If you want an easier time, if I remember correctly, again, is to just make a zone over the sinks and sell the water in them from said zone from any shop in the area.

Thought I'd say you'd probably have more water after a few derelicts to never be in need to bother with neither having no water nor no money to buy said water.

I never drank water from derelicts because of Neo Scavenger but I guess it's okay in Ostranauts. Hope one day devs can bring back the contaminate water.

Nothing in space to give you giardia :)

Eventually I'm sure there will be a creepy-pasta water ailment.
