Outstanding Warrant for No Reason?
Can anyone help, I am on the starting station and a character who is a 'stranger' to me according to my PDA asks me for $250, a split second later is says I have an Arrest Warrant... I really don't understand whats going on? It also says something about them looking at their PDA right before it pops up about the warrant. What am I doing wrong? There isn't even an option to give them the money so I really don't know what to do

I just had an arrest warrant for no reason, well the reason was "ship theft" or something.
It could have something to do with unpowered antennae, because I was getting an alert for that (I had power toggled off in the area.) Hope this is relevant. :hintlord:
You need an antenna + transponder, yes. It's illegal to fly without those. Also, the transponder need to be for that ship, so don't be smart and uninstal your starting ship transponder to put it on a derelict and pretend you "own it now". You don't. You need to buy it in Kleg and buy an official transponder for that ship there. Even if you bought the wreck, you need its appropriate transponder.

Please arrest this teddy bear - he escaped from the Playpen.
Got the same. A giddy police scan and says your under arrest, after just docking at a derelict, after having just left a station after having purchased a permit with the permit in my hand. You should be able to at least hand the permit to the police for inspection to verify validity, but no. Is all retarded, a bit like the world at the moment.
There is no rhyme or reason to why we get warrants sometimes. The last time i got one, i was literally just sitting on a derelict ripping up flooring and got a warrant.

Another time, i was on a derelict and got a nav message saying to undock and prepare to be boarded for inspection. I undocked, and then the cop crashed into my ship and then issued a warrant for failure to undock.
To be fair, while I understand the issue from a game perspective, you got to admit, the cop crashing into your ship then blaming you is very on point in the whole cyberpunk in space kind of deal.

LoL, thats fair.
I think the message for turning of your own ships transponder should be something different than "Flying a stolen ship" it's extremely confusing. Also it begs the question how do they even know its you?

Flight control will likely track all ships. Doesn't take a lot of deduction skill to find who it is flying blind when you follow them since they undocked.

You still show up on the nav maps, your just grey like the rest of the derelicts. And fun fact, if you ever see a ship that isn't a ? but you know you never visited it, odds are it's a pirate running dark. Can't tell you how many times i've blown by a grey ship and all of a sudden it lights up yellow and started tracking me.
