Ok great. But can i then recreate an "Airlock-Behaviour" with depressurize/repressurize that room or will i loose the atmosphere every time someone uses it?
Totally! There are a couple of ships you can use for inspiration such as the Bulk Loader or Heavy Tug (there's a full ship guide in guides) they have secondary airlocks that work exactly the same way as the primary airlock!
hey, thanks for the replay. But not sure if i get it. As far as i see all i need is a room with 2 doors and a pump from the room into another room or canister. The pump needs to be set to auto.
However, i did that and it does not seem to work. Whenever the outdoor door gets opened i see this kind of "atmosphere" steam leaving the room.
It also doesn't really compute in my brain. For an actual airlock i would need for sure another pump into the other direction and some kind of pressure sensor? I would also assume that the doors would need to have some kind of configuration/logic to tell them when they are allowed to open (no pressure for the outdoor door and >20kp for the indoor door)?
By the way, wasn't able to find a good guide for ship building. There are some explaining the rooms or what constitutes a breathable atmo. But nothing really explaining the more indepth mechanics. Maybe i missed it somewhere
I think it's important to point out that there is no automatic airlock right now, purely manual (or manual+ with signal boxes). Having the pump set to 'auto' just means that it'll pump when connected to an O2, N2, or CO2 alarm to their pre-set requirements.
I wrote a thing about airlocks on the ostranauts reddit a while back: Airlocks: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Vacuum
And here's a link to an atmosphere primer
