Can you learn new skills in game, like hacking for example? After already doing the intro. I am 6 hours in and I still havent left the starting station vicinity. Is there more to offer out in space?

I've learned weapon maintenance during one of the newly added adventures involving paranormal activity. Not sure you can learn hacking, however you can hire crewmembers which often have hacking and you can control them just like your main character.

There's a pirate-ish station called Flotilla with traders selling/buying what the main station doesn't, some distance away from KLEG. There's also NPCs on the NAV/SEC stations designating the boneyard perimeter.

What you see in space can be occluded by Ganymede itself, so going around the moon may reveal more wrecks, there's also a limit on how far you see around your ship.

You can also take the ferry if you don't mind waiting for a trip back, it's mostly useful for traveling between your own ships if you got multiple.

As far as I've been able to tell, you can only learn hacking during character creation. I believe I saw mention that eventually there will be more skill/trait learning in the future.
