Sleep
Hey.
I haven't played since 0.8 or 0.9.
Game has improved a ton since. Now I actually have a room on the station and can sleep.

My character is "Drowsy" and coffee doesn't help.
How do I speed up time more than 16x ? It will take hours ? In real life ?

For now, about v0.12, you will feel refreshed after about 2 to 4 irl minutes sleeping under 16x time wrap. I'm not sure but seems the better bed can provide better sleep.

So that's about 1h in-game ?
I did sleep about that much at the station and still drowsy.
1 hour should be enough, you can try to sleep a little longer. When you're good, your character will auto wake and stand up. At least it works like this in my game.

I just got a bed out of a derelict.
Maybe my character will be better in the ship and not on the station.
x16 on the station is quite a tax on my processor too.
Sleeping in space is an option for sure, just remember to connect your PDA to the nav station for receiving warnings, and make sure you have enough Delta V (at least 1000m/s imo) left. Sometimes a small collision may push your ships hundreds miles away from your parking position when you sleep.
ps- And make sure you're not too close to the Oklg station or any traffic heavy areas. AI pilots are some kind awkward on safe flight.

I just slept for about 3h.
It doesn't really work.

It turned from Weary to Drowsy to Weary again to Drowsy.
I slept 1h in suit and 2h without. No change.
Environment was also good. Healthy O2/N2 mix, temp, etc.

P.S. My character is insomniac, though. That may be the case ? And how to fix that ? I know I can in character creation, but ... I am way past that.
That sounds rabout right i got insomnia irl and experience the same things... I can't sleep at night properly at all so i try to sleep at day but it doesnt work right either and i feel tired constantly without sleeping it's so annoying... that or i got sleep apnea who knows only doctor knows ahah
Well... Have a good trip then.
2-4 hours of sleep will get rid of the drowsy and fatigued condition, especially in the real bed and not the bedroll.

You just need to manage your time. You sleep when you travel, especially when the trip will take you 3000 sec or more.

And yes, the game has improved alot. So much that I want to play now, not just playtest it to help out the dev.

If I sleep 30 minutes at a time while travelling (in-game minutes) does it count or I need full hour for it to count or something ?
P.S. My character has insomnia too.
It is pretty much like in real life. If your character is just fatigued. Sleeping here and there will keep him from becoming drowsy. But if he becomes drowsy, then you will have little choice but to sleep for a while. It will happen eventually though. Sleeping while travelling is the best way to keep your character's energy as high as possible for as long as possible. Get yourself the real bed and dump that bedroll sell it (worth some dough). They are worthless for sleeping.

Insomnia does not help. I get rid of all negative traits on my character at game start... would be nice if those traits were random according to your parents and your childhood though. We will probably see this in later versions of the game. My characters are rarely under 38

I did get rid of everything except Insomnia and learned EVA suits I think. Started at 35.

I will explore hiring another character, so I can leave my character to sleep for 10h while the other one is controlled by me (Or they only obey commands and are on "auto" ?) and then switch.
At least I've got a good bed.
Should I buy that medical bed ? It's like 40K or so.

If yous control a wounded crew member you can put him on medbed and then switch to another character to do the healing i think
I advise you to not hire anyone right now. The A.I. and pathfinding is still a work in progress and I do not know how high it is right now on the dev's list of priorities.

Best thing for new players, get a ship with two cargo bays max. Work on medium and small ships that are worthy of a restoration. Sell those, and repeat the process.

I do not mind restoring large ships on my own. I do the repairs stationary, then on my way back, I restore the ship's components, walls and floors, finishing up near the station.
