Also, if you have shoes on, make sure they are on the correct feet (left right)
I'm never wearing any shoes, only my EVA Suit.
The pain shown was permanent though, not temporary as suggested by Master-Steel
I had one of those lightning icons above the characters head, here were no existing ailments as I go rid of them by visiting the medical kiosk, the pain remained unchanged though for at least 2 more ingame days (when I had to abandon that game and character).
Not much there I can say or do about that anymore, would be nice to know how to deal with that kind of pain for future occurances.
Thanks to anyone who wanted to help anyway.
There are a number of meds you can get in the game, from antibiotics and antinausea pills to painkillers.
In fact I'm pretty sure there's 2 types of painkillers, but I only know of one of them that's easy to get, at least off the top of my head, Van Buren's Hydrocone, as there's a full bottle (plus a bottle of Amoxicillin antibiotics in one of the three sealed rooms near where you start in OKLG.
Either grab a power conduit or use the crowbar (found by using the switch to the very south of the corridor outside your room) to get entrance.
The room itself is the last one you see on the north side, just after the corridor to the flop room where everyone seems to suffocate.
You can also usually find them for purchase in the Supply kiosk and on wrecks, but do double check the bottles on wrecks as I've seen the pills replaces with other pills or scrap parts.
As an aside, I'm amused that IRL, my family would have a hard time being in orbit in this setting, as we're each allergic to either Hydrocone or Amoxicillin.
if the nanobots dont fix ya then that'd be a bug right there.
Did a dig, Nanobots improve your immune system, blood recovery and wound healing.
It's the surgery option that I don't see anything coded for.
