First ship cant get through damaged door
The first ship I tried to salvage the door is damaged and won't work. I open the pin pad and it gives option to use PDA to hack pin but clicking it does nothing. How do I get through this door? Sorry I ♥♥♥♥ lol

For damaged doors, there's 3 ways to deal with them.
Scrap/dismantle them, uninstall them or fix them.
Scrapping destroys the door but is quickest, uninstalling is only a bit faster than fixing them, but you can repair them at leisure to sell them later.
When you fix the door, which needs a bunch of scrap and a welder, if it's unlocked, you'd just need a crowbar to get in, if it's locked, then the wreck needs power for you to hack/unlock the door. So either grab a battery off your ship or take one of the mini ones with you to jump start doors.

hi there is sometimes an option to Pry open the door, if you have something large like a crowbar, but im not sure if it works on a locked door too?

It doesn't, locked doors take time to get through, either they are whole and you can add power to hack them or if it's damaged or you can't power it you'll need a cutting tool to get through locked doors, either to uninstall it or scrap it.
We start with a Horang hacksaw, but there's also a Gott Angle Grinder and Webber Laser Torch (Counts as a cutter/welder/soldering iron).
You get faster speeds from better tools.

ah ok thanks for the info :)

What I don't get is. Sometimes a damaged door can be pry opened and some with same condition can not. I don't see a wear and damaged relation to when I can or can't. Why is that?

Is it a (Damaged) state door? They are shown as jammed partially open. The only one's I've run into I've had to cut through.
Powered down doors can be opened with a crowbar, but locked doors can not.
Applying power, by installing a battery, has let me open/hack those doors as normal.

btw can you help me understand the difference between the 2 conduit cables?
the regular albrite, and the jumperjack?

all i know so far, is that the jumperjack is worth more, and not found as often, (and worth grabbing for selling in this way)
but, does the jumper jack actually also supply a small amount of power, to the objects it is nearby? (like powering a pump for 1 hour, or letting you hack a locked un-powered door?)

Not at all.
The Jumper-Jack functions the same as the Albrite.
But it weighs less (0.35kg vs 0.5kg), takes less time to install (roughly 1/2) and it fits in the light pocket slots in bags.
That said I pretty sure it isn't as durable to damage, but as I usually only lose them to meteors, the point is kinda moot.

So there are the lighter cables (jumper jack) and also lighter floor tiles and walls. What do they do ingame? Preserving/Saving fuel (N2) I would guess? Or is there anything else in terms of gameplay?

Pretty much it for now, I'm pretty sure it factors into manoeuvrability, and later it's ratings, too.
From my understanding with how it is in game, is that how fast we accelerate is determined by our mass compared to the amount of thrust we get out of our thrusters. The same 2 second burn from a single RCS system will apply a higher amount of velocity to a lighter ship than a heavier one. I know early on my ship wallows like a pig after a good salvage run until I can upgrade her.

Personally, I've take a shine to the look of Mobile Space System's "Light Framework" brand, less so the "Orange Way" variety.

hehe, in an earlier game, i was specifically picking out as many of the testudo-100's flooring that i could find, believing them to be having more hitpoints since they were often used underneath reactors etc, but they had the same hit points. i still have that save somewhere i think :)

I mostly use what ever I can find, but I do eventually swap over to a set schema.
Most of the ships I've gotten are made with large amounts of Testudo's "49 Series" flooring, so that and the "44 Series"/"55 Series" walls, so they end up my usual building block as I build up a supply of MSS.
i saw your rate my ship page, nice ship :)
